My 2011 journals/notebooks )

Just to give some context: my journals for this year. The majority of my artjournaling will happen in the notebook with the purple flowers; anything marked "sacred journey" will be in that journal (which is my main, day-to-day journal). Not sure what I'm doing with Rosie yet, but I bought her at the Rose St Markets last year, and will use her for something, I can guarantee. The "101 Dreams" book is for 101 things in 1001 days, which will be going for the next two and a half years.

ETA: can I get a user tag please?

I haven't posted in ages, but I'm hoping to redeem myself in coming days.

Earlier this year, I was stuck waiting alone in the CBD for several hours. Things were okay until 5pm, but then all the stores shut and I had to spend an hour and a half in McDonalds. While Borders had been open I'd bought a notebook, as I had nothing else to do. I kept it in my bag, and it's become my waiting book, mostly used at the many doctor appointments I've had in the last few months (how can a doctor be always an hour late by 9.30am? how?).

Additionally, I visited Thailand earlier this year, and bought a whole heap of notebooks (and other stationery items) there. :D

yes, I think 'heap' is a good word )

Just drove in from LJ, and I'm pleased to see there's already a community for paper journals here :) Maybe the influx of new people can get this place a-hoppin'!

Anyhow, I started keeping a paper journal back in February, with the intent to write every day (you know, the embodiment challenge and whatnot). Well, I've failed in that endeavour, because life just gets crazy, and I just get lazy. But I do still keep up with it better than any paper journal I've had before.

I'm mostly text-only... sometimes I'll hit it with deco tape and stickers. Every now and then, though, I go nuts and get creative. I'll probably be posting some of my more creative moments in the future.

Anywho, here are some pages I have to share (apologies to my old LJ friends, who have already seen these!):

Not my first attempt at art-journalling, actually my second or third.

Non-quote-type text is smudged. Hopefully sufficiently.

(I'm trying to generate some content for the whole [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw thing, so please excuse me if I'm spamming a bit too much!)

I said yesterday that I might try photographing a journal pages in various stages of finished-ness... well, I did that for today's. :)

The finished product...

Fun fact: today's journal entry contains the word "argh" three times. I am feeling a bit frustrated today, I guess.

Just started a new journal off, so... some quick pictures of the first page in it.

two images, largeish )

Not sure why it came into my head to take a picture of it before writing on the page, really. It's sort of nice to have the picture of it before it was done, though - maybe I'll try taking pictures of the next one at various stages of finished-ness so I can compare them afterwards, or something.

Hi everyone! I've kept a journal off an on throughout my life. Lately it feels more important to record my thoughts and I have several journals depending on what I'm writing about. I don't write a whole lot, but I aim to change that. :)

2 pictures of my journals follow )

I love crafty discussion. So far this seems like a very interesting community!
